FARDC bombed Mugunga IDP camp injuring 16 people, with the intention of pinning this crime on M23.
FARDC is using Mobutu’s old trick in Kolwezi in 1978 to provoke foreign
intervention. In May 1978 an uprising took place in Katanga against
Mobutu. Mobutu asked for assistance from France and Belgium to crush the
rebellion and a French legion arrived to help when corpses of
Europeans, purportedly killed by the Katanga rebels, were displayed by
Mobutu’s Government. In actual fact the Europeans had been killed by
Colonel Bosange on orders from Mobutu in accordance with Mobutu’s plan
to provoke intervention from France.
M23 strongly condemns the criminal act of deliberately targeting civilians by FARDC.
